Description
Welcome to a nice holiday home at Bolmstad Säteri. The farm dates to the 17th century and is still in operation with cows grazing on the large holdings. If you are more families or a group travelling together, there are more houses to rent at Bolmstad Säteri.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each room. Bathroom with shower is available as well as a well-equipped kitchen for the whole family to prepare the evening meal in. In the living room you have a TV (Astra dish with German channels). The house has fiber and wireless wifi. Enjoy sitting on the covered terrace and looking at the lake view. On cooler evenings, there is also a wood-burning stove in the cabin. Down by the lake there is a common sauna available free of charge (shared with other houses on the farm). Outside the house you have large areas suitable for ball games etc. Here you also find good fishing opportunities in Lake Bolmen, which is only 75 m from the cabin. You can rent boats and motors and buy fishing licenses at the farm.
Things to see and do in Ljungby and the surrounding area
Close to Bolmstad Säteri where you live is Bolmstad Hamn. There is a boat ramp and a sandy beach here if you want to take a dip. In summer there is also a café by the harbour. Bolmen is Sweden's 10th largest lake, and is known for good fishing, including zander and pike.
Ljungby is only 12 km from Bolmstad. There are many museums here, such as The Sagomuséet and Sven Ljungberg. There are also a lot of shops to stroll in and restaurants to eat at.
Feel free to take a car trip to beautiful Bolmsö, which you reach through the bridge at Tannåker. At the church village, you can then take a rope-pulled ferry over to the other side. Bolmsöleden runs between Bolmsö and Sunnaryd. Visit Tiraholms Fisk on the other side and take the opportunity to buy smoked fish or try the fresh zander at their restaurant.
