Description
The cottage in Mårarp is a genuine red cottage from 1929, located in a მშვიდ and tranquil landscape between Ljungby and Växjö. Here you are welcomed by a warm and personal atmosphere where the old has been preserved while important parts have been carefully renovated. The house offers a newer kitchen and bathroom as well as refreshed surfaces, but still retains its original layout and charm. The accommodation is perfect for a family or group seeking peace, nature and an authentic Swedish cottage experience. There is space for up to 4 people distributed across two bedrooms, one of which is an open loft like bedroom with a double bed and one separate bedroom with two single beds as well as a crib. The living room invites relaxation with a sofa, armchair and TV, while the dining room offers space for shared meals and game nights. The kitchen is fully equipped for both simple meals and baking. An additional lounge with access to the garden creates a natural gathering place for both children and adults. The large garden and adjoining forest provide plenty of space for play and exploration. There is also a playground, outdoor furniture, barbecue and opportunities for activities such as kubb and cycling. For the adventurous, there is also an inflatable canoe. Please note that the water in the house contains iron which gives it a brownish color. It is completely safe to use for showering and washing dishes, but drinking water is recommended to be brought or purchased.

The area around Ljungby and Växjö offers classic Småland nature with deep forests, sparkling lakes and open landscapes. Here you can hike, cycle or simply enjoy the tranquility. The river Lagan winds through the landscape and offers beautiful paths for walks and nature experiences. For excursions, a visit to Store Mosse National Park or Åsnen National Park is recommended, where you can paddle, hike and experience rich wildlife. In Ljungby you will find the Saga Museum reflecting the region’s storytelling tradition, and in Växjö you will find city life, restaurants and proximity to the Kingdom of Crystal with its classic glassworks.

This cozy cottage of 56 m2 is located almost on the border of Jönköping county. There is one bedroom with 3 beds and a double sofa bed in the cozy living room with a stove that can be lit for extra warmth. You live with nature around the knot and grazing animals. The cottage is secluded apart from a neighboring house. You have 900 m to a small pond with a wood-burning sauna that you can rent. Boat and motor can be rented from the owner who lives 1 km away. To see and do in Ryssby/Ljungby and the surrounding area
You drive 9 minutes to Rydaholm by car. Here is the nearest ICA store. In Rydaholm there is also a railway station and a hardware store. You also have Rydaholm's inn and Småland's car, music and toy museum as well as a nice swimming area at Lilla Helgasjön. Ryssby is not far either - here you can swim in Ryssby lake and also paddle down to Stensjön.
Hörda village is one of all the fairy tales in Sagobygden. The Black Death ravaged Sweden in the middle of the 14th century. In Hörda village, only one woman survived. After many years a lonely man came wandering. Heard and several other places around are usually visited places during the Ljungby Storytelling Festival, which is an annual festival organized by Berättarnätet Kronoberg.
Lagan, which is 17 km from your cabin, has an elk park and a golf course. In the community there is Slussen, which runs a second-hand shop, cafe and has a pilgrim garden. The Bergastigen in Lagan is also a nice walking route. Ljungby offers shopping and restaurants as well as many museums, such as The Fairy Tale Museum. Värnamo has the Vandalorum art museum, which also has a nice lunch restaurant. Rusarebo meadow is a nature reserve between Bor and Värnamo that is worth a visit if you are interested in flowers.
